[Mondrian] Mondrian Digest, Vol 112, Issue 13

Hi Pedro,
sorry for my reply but, as a long-standing EE Partner, I don't agree
that M3 is the best solution for the needs of our customers.

M4 introduced some "fresh" concepts that nowadays I feel are somehow
essential for a modern OLAP engine: I'm talking about using outer joined
tables, creating measures based on a dimension attribute, cross-joining
several fact_tables, not to mention a more "DWH-like" approach in
defining a phisical vs a logical schema...

I don't blame Pentaho if it doesn't think it's worth to invest on it,
I'm simply talking from the field where I live every day, clashing with
some Enterprise tools that have been addressed in that direction from a
long time, and I personally believe that to stay on the cutting edge,
you should also look around and leverage your own technology to improve
a product that is already at a good level, in the ground of Enterprise
solutions.

Best regards
Stefano
