No. It should work on 1.6 just the same as 1.5.
 
I note that you were having problems in a previous thread building from
source. These problems might be reponsible. You can solve your build
problems by building using ant, not Eclipse; or by using the prebuilt
distribution.
 
If that doesn't solve your problems, please post the errors.
